Today, I wanted to experiment with some new creative ideas, and with today being the Summer Solstice for the Northern Hemishphere, what better way than to create something for this celebratory occasion. If you are unaware, the summer solstice occurs exactly when the Earth’s semi-axis in a given hemisphere is most inclined towards the sun, at its maximum tilt of 23° 26′ and the day on which the summer solstice occurs is the day of the year with the longest period of daylight. The summer solstice occurs in June in the Northern Hemisphere north of the Tropic of Cancer (23°26′N) and in December in the Southern Hemisphere south of the Tropic of Capricorn (23°26′S).

So, Google has come up with another great Doodle design. Today is commemorating Les Paul’s 96th birthday. For those of who have been living under a rock, Les Paul—was an American jazz and country guitarist, songwriter and inventor. He was one of the pioneers in the development of the solid-body electric guitar.

What makes this interesting design even more fun is that if you hover over the guitar strings, you get the sounds as well: E, A, D, G, B, E. Oh yeah, you can also record your playing session and share the link! Pretty neat stuff!
